Vinyasa means breath movement synchronicity. One of the most famous teachers I have studied boiled yoga down to “breathing, with a few movements thrown in”. Vinyasa Flow is in wonderful style of practising physical yoga with priority given to breath over movement. Breath is boss, and guides you through the movement that is designed to flow easily from pose to pose. Progressive vinyasa flow is where attention is given to specific sequencing of asana (the poses) to assist the breath in enabling the practitioner to move further into the poses than would happen without that progression.
