About Warriorwavesyoga

Warriorwavesyoga aspires to be a collective of like minded individuals, based on the Dingle peninsula, on the west coast of Ireland, dedicated to the yogic way.

Terry O’Connell has been a student of yoga for almost twenty-five years, and has practiced in the Iyengar, Asthanga, Aerial Flow and Vinyasa Flow styles.   He is a qualified yoga teacher, certified by the UK accreditation body, Yoga Alliance Professionals, and has a black belt in Traditional Shotokan Karate.

Terry teaches a combination of traditional Hatha style yoga and progressive Vinyasa Flow style yoga, depending on the needs of the class.  There is a particular emphasis on breathwork and balance in Terry’s classes, modified to level.

In addition to open classes, Terry also teaches regular morning workshops at Misneach Studio in Lispole, on the beautiful Dingle Peninsula in Kerry.  Terry has a particular interest in breathwork and in modifications of asanas to allow for bodily limitations.

Terry has practiced aerial flow yoga for ten years and anticipates training as a teacher in this style.

Since 2023, when Misneach Studio was completed, Terry has been hosting small group workshops, teaching kriyas, hatha style yoga and some aerial flow.   The studio has capacity for seven yoga hammocks with twin point suspension.

My wife, Natalie Russell, uses the studio for dance classes.  The studio itself is in one of the old stone outbuildings near our house in Lispole, Co. Kerry.

This has been modified internally and in the roof structure to provide a safe, warm space with multiple hardpoints in the ceiling for aerial yoga, but without interfering with the stone structure and with respect for the original construction, materials and style.    The windows and doors were made to measure for me by my old friend, Eamonn McCarthy in Glens in the traditional style. It has a sprung floor for dancing and has fibre broadband for online classes.

For workshops, seven yoga hammocks can be hung from the 14’ (4.2m) ceiling.

“Thank you all for making today another wonderful yogi day @ Misneach.”

Workshops at Misneach Studio

Regular workshops are held intermittently on Saturdays and/or Sundays from 10.30 to 13.00. These involve kriya yoga, followed by an asana class adjusted to level, an aerial yoga session and a guided relaxation to finish.
We usually have a potluck lunch after, to which people are invited to bring something to share. There will be plenty of homemade bread and soup. This is not part of the workshop, but is usually very social.
There will also be availability by prior appointment for small groups (max 7 persons) for a tailored yoga and/or aerial yoga class, adjusted to level, suitable for all levels, mats and props provided.
Note: active aerial yoga is unsuitable for persons for whom inversions are contra-indicated due to physical limitations.  Restorative aerial yoga using the silks for gentle support and traction may assist such persons.

Price: €45/person

Max 7 Places so prior booking essential.
